A 500+ sqm welcome sign for the city of Nahariya

ColorPlay designed and manufactured a giant bilingual “Welcome / ברוכים הבאים” sign in custom artificial grass, installed on a landmark traffic island at one of Nahariya’s main intersections.

When the city of Nahariya wanted a landmark that would greet everyone arriving in town, they came to ColorPlay. The brief was bold: a welcome message big enough to read from the road and from the air, built to survive full sun and heavy traffic year-round.
We designed and tufted the entire piece in custom artificial grass — a bilingual “Welcome / ברוכים הבאים” in crisp white on a deep ColorPlay blue, finished with the city’s own brand accents. Every letter was cut and stitched in-house so the edges stay sharp and the colors stay vivid.
Installation covered more than 500 square metres of traffic island, fitted around existing palm trees and kerbs with millimetre precision. Because the surface is artificial grass rather than paint, it won’t fade, crack or wash away — the welcome stays just as bright through summer heat and winter rain.
The project shows how far ColorPlay surfaces reach beyond the playground: the same made-to-order turf that makes play areas come alive can turn a roadside into a piece of civic identity.
